Analisis Kebutuhan Bimbingan dan Konseling Akademik Bagi Mahasiswa Bimbingan dan Konseling Universitas Jambi

Abstract


Penelitian ini berfokus pada identifikasi dan evaluasi kebutuhan konseling akademik yang belum terpenuhi bagi mahasiswa bimbingan dan konseling di Universitas Jambi. Konseling akademik sangat penting untuk mendukung prestasi akademik dan pengembangan profesional mahasiswa. Namun, tantangan seperti komunikasi yang tidak efektif dengan penasihat akademik, akses terbatas ke layanan, dan rendahnya kesadaran mahasiswa tentang manfaat konseling dapat menghambat pembelajaran dan pengembangan keterampilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kebutuhan konseling yang belum terpenuhi dan hambatan dalam memanfaatkan layanan bimbingan di universitas. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara semi-terstruktur, penelitian ini didasarkan pada teori konseling akademik Trautwein dan Bosse serta teori kebutuhan Knowles. Analisis data dilakukan melalui pendekatan tematik dan naratif. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa, mirip dengan penelitian pada mahasiswa Jerman, kebutuhan konseling individu dan organisasi lebih diutamakan daripada kebutuhan belajar dan sosial. Hal ini mencerminkan kekhawatiran di antara mahasiswa Universitas Jambi tentang pemahaman jurusan mereka, penetapan tujuan akademik, pemahaman kurikulum, dan kurangnya persiapan untuk tantangan akademik. Penelitian ini pada akhirnya memberikan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas layanan konseling akademik di universitas
