This article describes the metaphors that are often attached to football clubs. The theory used is Lakoff and Johnson's conceptual metaphor. The data were collected by conducting corpus query in the Leipzig Corpora Collection (LCC) of the University of Leipzig, Germany, and completed with some searches using specific keywords on Google. From the available data, we get metaphors that take orientational domains, both vertically and horizontally, and other metaphors, such as metaphors about winning, losing, draw score, and developing strategy.
