Author Guidelines

Online Submission

  1. Authors have to register first before submitting a manuscript
  2. Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts electronically by using the online submission and review site (http://journal.upgris.ac.id/index.php/allure/user/register). This site will guide authors through the five-step submission process. Submissions that do not adhere to this procedure WILL NOT be considered for the review process.
  3. The author's name must not appear in the manuscript itself for the blind review. Replace name with word 'Author' where necessary.
  4. Authors are required to conform to the reference as given in if they want their manuscripts to be considered for publication.
  5. Authors should attach manuscript authenticity statement and publication commitment letter that can be downloaded as given here (Publication Commitment Letter). Manuscript cannot exceed a 20% similarity score (references excluded) or automatically rejected. Authors are to check manuscripts for plagiarism before submitting to the journal as well as Editor-in-chief will do the plagiarism screening using Turnitin.
  6. Manuscripts submitted to ALLURE Journal go through an internal review and if they meet the basic requirements, they are sent out for double blind review from experts in the field, either from the editorial board or identified reviewers. Comments from the external reviewers are sent to the authors and they are notified of the journal’s decision (accept, accept with revisions, reject). This entire review process will take at least 2 months before the publication. Authors are advised to submit at manuscript within that time period. The editor’s decision is final.
  7. We do not encourage multiple submissions. An author may publish ONLY in alternate issues of ALLURE Journal. The rule remains in case of co-authorship.

General Rules

  1. Allure Journal is a blind peer-reviewed electronic journal.
  2. Manuscripts must align with the mission and purpose of Allure Journal
  3. Manuscripts must be submitted through Online Journal System  of Allure Journal
  4. Manuscripts are about  applied linguistics, linguistics, and literature.
  5. Manuscripts must be in English, 4000 – 7000 words, the length of the manuscript approximately 12 – 20 pages (including references) saved as Word Document (.doc/.docx); A4 paper, Font: Times New Roman. (download template).
  6. Abstract should be prepared in English, 200 - 250 words. 
  7. Abstract should state (a) the purpose of the study, (b) basic procedures in the study, and (c) principal conclusions. 
  8. Manuscripts should be organized under suitable headings.
  9. Manuscripts content should be organized in the following order: title, name of author and affiliation, abstract and keywords, introduction, literature review, methodology, findings and discussion, conclusion and recommendation, acknowledgment, references.

Paper Title

The title should be accurate, unambiguous, specific, and complete. The title should not be more than 20 words.

Author’s Name(s) and Affiliation(s)

  1. Write Author(s) names without title and professional positions. Do not abbreviate your last/family name. Always give your First and Last names.
  2. Write clear affiliation of all Authors. Affiliation includes: name of university, city, country.

Abstract and Keywords

  1. Abstract should stand alone, means that no citation in abstract. Please follow word limitations (200-250 words).
  2. The abstract include the introduction, objective of the papers, method, findings, and conclusion including novelty of the study.
  3. Below the abstract, about three to five keywords should appear together with the main body of the manuscripts with the font size 10. Each word/phrase in keyword should be separated by a semicolon (;), not a comma (,).

Introduction

Authors should state the objectives of the work at the end of introduction section. Before the objective, Authors should provide an adequate background, and very short literature survey in order to record the existing solutions/method, to show which is the best of previous researches, to show the main limitation of the previous researches, to show what do you hope to achieve (to solve the limitation), and to show the scientific merit or novelties of the paper. Avoid a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

Method

Method should make readers be able to reproduce the experiment. Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described. Do not repeat the details of established methods.

Findings and Discussion

  1. Findings should be clear and concise. The findings should summarize (scientific) findings. Please highlight differences between your results or findings and the previous publications by other researchers.
  2. The discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Make the discussion corresponding to the findings, but do not reiterate the results. It should begin with a brief summary of the main scientific findings (not experimental results).

Conclusion

Conclusion should answer the objectives of research. Tells how your work advances the field from the present state of knowledge. Do not repeat the Abstract, or just list experimental results. Provide a clear scientific justification for your work, and indicate possible applications and extensions. You should also suggest future experiments and/or point out those that are underway.

Acknowledgement (optional)

Recognize those who helped in the research, especially funding supporter of your research. Include individuals who have assisted you in your study: Advisors, Financial supporters, or may other supporter i.e. Proof-readers, Typists, and Suppliers who may have given materials.

References

Cite the main scientific publications on which your work is based. Cite only items that you have read. Avoid excessive self-citations. Avoid excessive citations of publications from the same region. Check each reference against the original source (authors' name, volume, issue, year, DOI Number). Every source cited in the body of the article should appear in the reference, and all sources appearing in the reference should be cited in the body of the article. The sources cited should at least 80% come from those published in the last 10 years. The sources cited are primary sources in the forms of journal articles, books, and research reports, including theses and dissertations. Citations from journal should be at least 80% of the total references cited. Finally, Quotation and references follows APA style.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. It is understood that a manuscript submitted to ALLURE Journal has not been published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format. A4 page layout is used. DO NOT upload a PDF file.

  3. Where available, the most current URLs for the references have been provided.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms: 

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal. If the manuscript is accepted, the authors will be required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement. 
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
