Author Guidelines

  1. Articles written for CIVIS Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Sosial dan Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan include the results of the study in the field Pancasila and Civic Education in the form of research articles, which are Philosophy, Ideology, and Ethics; Law and Constitutional; Political and Government; Social and Culture.
  2. The article is written in Indonesian or English. Articles written in English must be accompanied by proof of translation from a credible institution. If the article is written in Indonesian, a translation fee will be charged.
  3. The manuscript font format is Book Antiqua, with a size of 11 pts, with 1.5 line spacing, printed on A4 paper with a scale of 15-25 pages.
  4. The names of all authors of the article are listed without academic degrees and placed under the title of the article along with the correspondence e-mail, the name and the address of the author's institution. The authors are required to include the e-mail address to facilitate communication. Title, author's name, and its affiliates listed on the first page of the article followed with abstract consisting of 200-250 words and 3-5 keywords. The sequence of the paper is the Title, Author, Affiliation, Address, E-mail Correspondence, Abstract, Keywords.
  5. The article is written in Indonesian or English essay format. The title of the article is printed in capital letters with center paragraph formats, and font size of 14 points. The rank is expressed in the title section with different types of letters (all titles sections and sub-sections in bold or bold and italic), and refrain to use of numbers in the title section:

    Rank I (capitalized font, bold, left justify)
    Rank 2 (small and capitalized font, bold, left justify)
    Rank 3 (small and capitalized, bold-italic, left justify)

  6. Systematic of a research article is the title; the author's name (without academic degree); abstract that contains the objectives, methods, and research result; keywords; introduction which contains the background, a little review of the literature, and research purposes; methods; the results and discussion; conclusions; references (contain the references of the source). For making it easier, please download the manuscript template here.
  7. References should be sourced from reputable international scientific articles. The total number of references is at least 20 articles.
  8. References and citations use parenthetical styles or author-date styles (name, year). For example (Davis, 2003) (Write down references that are referenced alphabetically and chronologically. a Bibliography is a list of references, not a bibliography, it must contain all referenced sources in the manuscript, and there is no need to contain sources that are not referenced. The reference list contains everything referenced in the text that comes from that source; (a) relevant, (b) at least 80% current (last 10 years), and (c) at least 80% primary, especially from journal articles).
  9. The list of references (bibliography) should be sorted alphabetically and chronologically, using APA style. We suggest you use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero. The example of references style based on the acquired sources is as follow:

  10. The formats of quotations, references, tables, and images should follow the direction of Pedoman Penulisan Karya Ilmiah (State University of Malang, 2017) or directly model on formats used in the articles that have been published. Articles in Indonesia using Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia. Meanwhile, English-language articles using the standard variety.
  11. All manuscripts are reviewed anonymously by peer review whom selected by the editor based on their field of expertise. Authors of the articles are given the opportunity to make improvements (revision) on the manuscript based on the recommendations/suggestions from peer review or editor. The decision of the manuscript being accepted or rejected will be notified by e-mail.

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
